Having a hobby is one of the simple pleasures in life. However, sometimes the search can be frustrating and with our busy schedules and modern day lives taking control, it can sometimes be easy to give up on our hobbies – don’t give up, never give up on something you enjoy doing!

Hobby Search Plan:

Life is too short not to indulge in something we enjoy. The first step is to find your hobby, find your passion. What is it that you enjoy doing most? What would you do for free and not get paid for, simply because you like to do it?

Once you can answer this question then you can move forward with your hobby search plan. Maybe it’s a certain sport you like to play? Maybe it’s a form of art or dance? Maybe it’s cooking? That’s what’s so great about having a hobby, is that it can be anything really. I personally like to horseback ride, and write. A good friend of mine skydives as a hobby and another makes wooden furniture.

Once you have discovered your passion, then the second, and most crucial, step is to find the time to enjoy it, make the time! Block out a couple hours a week or one day where you can take the time to enjoy your hobby or sport. Nowadays, it seems we always have an excuse, we have too much work, we are too tired, supper needs to be made, we are always go, go, go and we don’t take down time or personal time for ourselves. Write it in your schedule; a couple hours a week even to start and enjoy your newly discovered passion;

The third and final piece of advice is to ask yourself this question, Can I make a living doing what I love? If you’re truly passionate and dedicated, you can make it happen! Happy hobby hunting!

If you’re anything like me and into your sport and fitness, the winter can be a real killjoy. I’m not into winter sports at all, and really just love focusing on my bicycle riding as the primary way of keeping in tip top condition. But once that snow starts to fall, bike riding outdoors becomes all but impossible.

But after reading some online reviews about indoor trainers/stationary bike stands, I decided it was worth checking out a couple of models. The best bang for my buck seems to be the relatively cheap, and more entry-level Schwinn Magnetic Bike Trainer, which I snapped up! Read the rest of this entry

There’s nothing more annoying than some heavy snowfall and generally bad winter weather to stall my winter biking schedule.

As a very keen cyclist, to the point of decent amateur level, I had always been dismissive of purchasing a decent indoor trainer to keep my schedule on track, whatever the weather. But what with a recent Christmas gift of this amazing Kurt Kinetic road machine, my schedule hasn’t looked back! To put it bluntly, stick on some music on your headphones and you’ll feel just as if you were outdoors, it’s that awesome.
